ShopTalk Business Workshops at the Target and Servers Plus Open Day

ShopTalk – Target’s customer business development service - is a key part of the Open Day. Dedicated to helping you grow and be more successful it's a not-for-profit run solely for your benefit. The case is simple: if you’re more successful so are we. Why wouldn’t we want that?

This year ShopTalk presented two different sessions. In “Do the Right Thing” we discussed competitive advantage and the meaning of customer service. We set out why we set up ShopTalk. And concluded with updates on the Retail Price Comparison and ShopTalk Rewards program.

In “How to Sell at Higher Margins than Your Competitors“ we made the case that business is about margin, not volume and why correct pricing is crucial. We discussed the language of price and how a simple number communicates so much more than cost. We also covered off tips on how to handle price objections finished with a showstopper. About something that may prevent you from ever selling at higher margins.

Adviser Workshops

Business Adviser Workshops at the Target and Servers Plus Open Day

This year saw fifteen expert adviser workshops over and above those from ShopTalk.

Three were from vendors – Energenie, HPE and Fujitsu - setting out the market opportunities for you selling their brands.

Context and GfK presented market intelligence on key parts of today’s marketplace. Special sessions devoted to gaming and VR as well as Smart Home.

Social Progress gave advice on how to use Social Media to grow your business. Google advised on getting found online as well as cyber security.

Productivity Leaders spoke about the causes of waste and how to remove it. Ramsdens Solicitors about GDPR.

Quite a list! And something for everyone.
